South Tampa Posse / Florida Training

Just Wrapped up a solid 400 mile training week in Tampa, Fl. A one hour recovery ride in the morning, pack the bike, the kids, and then off to the airport! We had a great time with friends and family. Ashley was able to get in a great race and log some sweet running workouts with some former training partners. I was able to ride with the South Tampa Posse and get in a few solid race efforts during 2 of the longest running group rides in the St. Petersburg, FL. area, wher 50 riders is the normal number of riders per ride. I can only hope that we have a larger group of runners and cyclist joining us in the future for an annual training trip to Florida!

Now, a big congratulations goes out to Cameron Chamber, who races on the Ethos Racing team, Shores Sports is a sponsor of the team, for his 1st victory of 2010! Check out his blog: http://kcdirtbikeracing.blogspot.com/ for a full race report! I am sure he will have it posted soon!! Also check out: http://trailcrew.specialized.com/2010/03/prepare-for-battle/ as Cameron is also a part of the Specialized Stumpjumper Crew. He raced his new Stumpjumper this weekend and I am sure a complete race report and video recap could be on that site soon! Cool stuff Cameron!

Now back to reality soon! Working, raising 2 toddlers, and fitting in training. March 27th is on the horizon, that is the first official race on my schedule for 2010. Let's hope the weather in Kansas cooperates and allows us to ride and race on the local trails soon! Otherwise, I might be forced to race on the road in order to see if this mini training camp was a success or not?

See you all on the trails or road soon and don't forget the SPIN! rides will start soon! The rumor is that we will begin the organized SPIN! rides from the Lee Summit location each Saturday in April. Stay tooned for those details!

See you in Kansas!

  1. Hey, Sounds like you had a killer training camp. I would love to go next year! Anyway, do you want to put all that training to work this sunday? I'm going to a killer Road Race just outside of Fayetteville AR. on Sunday. It is 2X20 mile laps for us cat 4's, each lap has 3 good climbs, the biggest one is 1.2 miles long and the others are 1/4 to 1/2 mile long. It has a 55+ mph downhill that goes on for a decent length of time. Anyway, if your interested give me a shout. It's supposed to be 55 degrees and clear skies for the course.
